It was a great idea when recruitment firms in India decided some years ago to come together to form a professional body called the “Executive Recruiters Association” or ERA. Over the last few years this body took a leadership role in representing the Indian recruitment industry and helped raise the standards of member firms.

Taking that initiative forward, I hope “ERA Speaks” is able to take this to the next level by providing a platform for sharing of views, ideas, etc, for the entire recruitment universe. We hope this platform is freely used not just by recruitment company CEO’s and their recruiters to air their views and experiences, but also our clients, candidates and vendors. This online newsletter will also include updates on all that’s happening at the National and Chapter levels in the various ERA forums. Hence it will reach out to a wider audience and enable them to benefit from all the developmental initiatives of ERA.

This first issue is a milestone and I am glad that some of the best firms in India came forward to contribute towards making it a success. I sincerely hope that future issues can take the momentum forward and have a much wider spread. As the first issue was launched on the initiative of the Delhi Chapter, we invited articles from Delhi chapter only. However from the next issue onwards we intend to open this at an all India level and hope to encourage a far greater and wider participation.
